The
Struts, known for their high-energy performances and glam-rock style,
brought their signature flair back to the House of Blues in H-Town on
July 23, 2024.
Opening Act: Barns Courtney
The
night kicked off with Barns Courtney, who delivered a high-octane
performance that set the bar sky-high for the rest of the evening. From
the moment he took the stage, Courtney’s blues-rock swagger was on full
display. His set was a compelling mix of gritty vocals, infectious
energy, and powerful guitar riffs. Tracks like “Glitter & Gold” and
“Fire” roared through the venue, and Courtney’s charismatic presence
had the crowd fully engaged, even before the headliners took the stage.
The raw emotion and intensity he brought to his performance was the
perfect prelude to the main event.
The Struts: A Glam-Rock Extravaganza
When
The Struts took the stage, the energy in the House of Blues reached a
fever pitch. Known for their flamboyant style and rockstar charisma,
the band didn’t disappoint. Luke Spiller, looking rather healthy and
sporting dress pants and a vest, commanded attention with an energetic
stage presence from start to finish. The setlist was a carefully
curated blend of fan favorites and fresh tracks, showcasing the band's
knack for blending glam-rock aesthetics with modern sensibilities.
The
crowd erupted as the opening chords of “Roll Up” rang out, setting the
tone for a night filled with high-energy anthems and sing-along
moments. The Struts’ performance was punctuated by visually striking
stage setups and Spiller’s theatrical antics.
Highlights
of the evening included a soaring rendition of “Kiss This,” which had
the entire venue singing along. The encores, featuring a raucous
versions of “Put Your Money On Me” and “Could Have Been Me” was a
fitting end to a night of unapologetic rock and roll.
Overall Experience:
The
Struts with Barns Courtney made for an electrifying combination. Barns
Courtney’s gritty, soulful rock set a powerful tone for the night, and
The Struts delivered a performance that was both theatrical and tightly
executed. The synergy between the opening and headlining acts created a
memorable concert experience that left the audience buzzing long after

new appreciation for both artists and a night’s worth of rock and roll
memories.
