The Struts Return to the House of Blues

    The House of Blues in Houston erupted in a dazzling display of glam and rock as The Struts made their triumphant return to the stage on November 17, 2023. The anticipation in the air was electric, and the night promised to be an unforgettable experience with the support acts Hot For Crime and Mac Saturn setting the stage on fire.

    Hot for Crime: Setting the Stage Ablaze.
    Kicking off the night with a burst of energy, LA based Hot for Crime took command of the stage. This up-and-coming band wasted no time in capturing the audience's attention with their infectious blend of punk-infused rock. The crowd quickly warmed up to their raw and unapologetic sound, setting the perfect tone for the evening. Hot for Crime left an indelible mark on the House of Blues, proving that they are a force to be reckoned with in the rock scene.

    Mac Saturn: A Stellar Interlude.
    Following the fiery performance by Hot For Crime, Mac Saturn took the stage providing a change of pace with their unique sound. Mac Saturn is an American rock band from Detroit, Michigan formed in 2020. The band consists of lead vocalist Carson Macc, lead guitarist Mike Moody, bassist Jive Moses, rhythm guitarist Nick Barone, keyboardist Evan Mercer, and drummer Angelo Coppola. Known for their eclectic mix of psychedelic and indie rock, Mac Saturn delivered a stellar performance that showcased their musical versatility. The audience was entranced by the dreamy melodies and captivating stage presence, creating a mesmerizing interlude before The Struts took center stage.

    The Struts: Glam-Rock Extravaganza.

s the House of Blues reached its peak excitement, The Struts emerged in a blaze of lights and glitter embodying the essence of glam-rock royalty. Frontman Luke Spiller commanded the stage with his charismatic presence, instantly captivating the audience. The band kicked off their set with a series of fan favorites, including hits from their latest album, creating a seamless blend of old and new that resonated with both longtime fans and newcomers alike.

    The Struts' performance was a masterclass in showmanship, with Spiller effortlessly working the crowd and the band delivering tight, electrifying instrumentals. The setlist included anthems like "Body Talks" and "Kiss This" which had the entire venue singing along in unison. The dynamic interplay between guitarist Adam Slack, bassist Jed Elliott, and drummer Gethin Davies showcased the tight-knit chemistry that has become a hallmark of The Struts' live shows.

    The highlight of the night came during the final song of their set “Put Your Money on Me” that left the audience craving more. After leaving the stage the Struts soon returned for an encore that featured an acoustic rendition of “Strange Days,” with Luke on piano allowing for an intimate connection with the fans. The night ended with the crowd favorite “Could Have Been Me” with everyone in attendance dancing and singing along. As the final notes echoed through the House of Blues it was clear that The Struts had once again left their mark on Houston, solidifying their reputation as one of the premier live acts in the rock genre.
