We All Just Wannam Be Big Rockstars

If you weren't at The Cynthia Woods Mitchell Pavilion in the Woodlands for their concert Sunday night, I'm sorry. The legendary rock band from Canada brought their Get Rollin' Tour to The Woodlands for a sold-out crowd of more than 17,000.

Nickelback which consists of band mates; lead vocalist Chad Kroeger, guitarist Ryan Peake, bassist Mike Kroeger and drummer Daniel Adair, started off the night with one of their most recent songs “San Quentin,” from their 2022 release Get Rollin. From there they proceeded to rock the crowd with some of their more iconic songs right off the bat, like the 2005 releases “Savin’ Me,” “Far Away” and “Animals”  all from the All The Right Reasons album. “Someday,” the first single releases off the 2003 The Long Road album was next and had the crowd singing along to every word. Chad then took it back to a lesser know 1998 release Worthy to Say”  then hit it hard with the second single released from the 2003 The Long Road album ”Figured You Out.” Chad’s solo debut release “Hero” was next which was originally recorded for the 2002 soundtrack for the superhero film Spider-Man. The American classic “Copperhead Road” was the only cover song of the night which had Josh Ross and Brantly Gilbert joining the boys on stage. Other classics like “Photograph,” “Rockstar,” “Those Days” and “How You Remind Me” led up to the end of the main set. Returning onstage after making the crowd wait in suspense for a few minutes, Chad led off with “Gotta Be Somebody” from the 2008 album Dark Horse.

The band has been around since 1995, and they're still going strong, that point was proven Sunday night. Accompanied by visuals and explosive fire, it was everything a rock concert should be. They even brought a fan up on stage for what Chad called rockstar karaoke to sing their iconic hit “Rockstar” with them. At one point Chad, who was obviously having a grand ole time, even reminisced about a previous time in H-Town when he was arrested for trashing a hotel room as rockstars sometimes do.

Closing the night was the fitting final song “Burn It To The Ground” which had the crowd bouncing with their fists in the air as each sang along to every word.

Nickelback was joined by country music star Brantley Gilbert and rising country artist Josh Ross for this tour. Everyone was dancing and singing along throughout the entire night.
